6-14-08 REXBURG'S AIRSHOW

There were planes that did tricks and dives. It was really cool to see them fly so close to the ground and each other. The kids LOVED it, especially Chase.

All the kids were headed out to the pond to feed the ducks, but we called them back as the show started. The actual air show was at the airport in Rexburg, but there is a local park just across the river, and so we put up camp there. My mom and Kimber were in Utah at Youth Conference, so we had the kids while my dad was taking the Practix Test for Earth Science. It was warm, but lots of sunscreen and our big umbrella and we were good!

Chase hardly turned around. I begged for him to let me get a picture of him. I got the back of his head, and thought that would just be okay, until he finally turned around last second and was trying to talk to me about what he was seeing. This kid can spot planes from anywhere in the sky...sometimes I can't even find them and he's pointing and squakin'. Kelton kept telling me play-by-play what was happening. There were two trickster planes and then the war planes. We're going to take the kids to the museum this weekend.

The Jelly Belly plane that faked a loss of a part of his wing, a tire and some toliet paper that he cut in half. He also landed on a flat bed truck later. It was fun to watch him fly so close!

Lindsay, Ryun and Rylin came just a litle later and we all hung out during the show. Everyone was in awe looking up at all of the cool planes. They even had a Russian M.I.G. (jet plane) that went so fast, you saw the plane and then about 2 seconds later, heard it. It slowed down so we could see it pass by the airport strip. Even the big boys had their jaws down. Super fun!

P.S. We did not want to be rude, so we sat in the back of the pack to not block anyone! :)

I am so jealous! Weston LOVES airplanes. He would have gone nuts! There would be no blood in his arm from pointing them out so much!
