4-13-08 Peeping Kelton

So, today it was near 70 degrees outside! It was crazy beautiful! We took the kids (and a tired Daddy) out on a walk. There are a few empty houses for sale in the neighborhood, so we peeked inside a couple that were vacant. I was waking Taelin in the jogger, Jake had Chase in the umbrella stroller and Kelton was riding his bike. We walk past this pretty house, and Jake and I are talking when I see Kelton jump off his bike and say, "Man, this a pretty house." I told him that people lived there but he wouldn't hear me, so he ran up to the door and looked in the window on the side of the door! He smashed his face against the window and said, "wow- nice paint". The embarassing part was the lady that came out and asked if we needed anything! I explained what we had been doing and she just giggled, said they were from Cali and were used to wierder, just glad they were dressed! It was funny!!!

4-08-08 Wild Sleeping Children

So, I have children that sleep just like me. Well, at least the boys, but Taelin can't move for right now, so we'll assume that she will follow our pattern! They sleep like wildmen, floppin' all over in the night (which is why we have to keep them in cribs until they won't fall out of the bed). Jake always teases me that I'm a crazy sleeper and that I scrunch all of the top sheet to the bottom. He usually refers to it as, "the rat nest" because when he gets out of bed in the morning, he just opens the covers and lays them back, no moving at all! My side looks like a hurricane...what can I say, I am a crazy sleeper. So, I thought it would be cute to see pics of my children sleeping. AHH...I love 'em! Kelton's is the funniest...yes, he is standing up! As I laid him back in bed, I asked if he had to go potty, and he said yes, he had gone. :) Oh, and he is determined to wear only underwear to bed (since that is what Beau sleeps in) from now on. So, we'll keep everyone posted on that ordeal.

Jake bought a size too big for Chase, so instead of buying more pull-ups, Kelton gets to wear the big diapers until they run out, which isn't soon enough for him. He keeps looking in the mirror and saying, "mom, i look like a baby!" (not so happy)...so he is set out to not wear diapers anymore!

(and yes, I usually have a pillow case on chase's pillow, but he had spilt milk on it, and i was not about to wake him up again! he can be one angry child when he gets woken up too early!)

look at those cheeks! she is my best sleeper! out like a light!

4-1-08 Happy Birthday Daddy!!!

HAPPY 27th BIRTHDAY JACOB!!
For the past couple of years, I have failed at making Jacob's birthday a big deal. 1st year- kelton was born 2 weeks earlier, 2nd year-kelton turned one and then general conference landed on that day, 3rd year- we went down to florida for his b-day and conference weekend, 4th year- we attended conference in utah with marie and aaron, 5th year- i had to do a surprise!!!!!
Here is what we did for his birthday:
1.) I made him Stollen and bought him Simply Orange Juice for this breakfast
2.) cooked brisket from texas for dinner
3.) organized a surprise birthday party with family and friends from work by decorating the house, making a banner with the boys the day before, shopping alone with three kids twice to have them each pick out a gift and at last configuring out a plan to get him out and gone for just the right amount of time!!! He didn't see anyones car, and it was perfect!
4.) Topped off the night with browines and icecream, his favorite!
Presents he got:
a pink tie, watch, 3-in-1 printer, business card holders, survival knife, sunglasses, pen with his name on it, and snickers (from talea) along with beautiful cards from the kids .
Next year, we'll just have to hope he's not sick! :(

3-31-08 Making Pizza

We decided to make pizza, homemade since the boys and I can't have anything like that pre-prepared...and we used the super yummy donut recipe...so the dough was sweet. It was yummy. The boys got to make their own, and we made a big one for Jake and I, half cheese, and half without. The boys are funny though, Kelton LOVES toppings and will eat maybe 1/4 of the dough, and Chase LOVES the dough, and eats minimal toppings. You'd think I'd just make one pizza for them then, and we'd be set! But making them together is half the fun!!! Kelton's is closest to the camera...and you can see Chase piling all of his pineapples in one corner.

3-26-08 Choffin Family Pictures

We had family pictures taken, since it will be the last time we are all together until late August. Kyle is going to work in Omaha, Nebraska this summer, and with Corey proposing to Katey last week, we are expecting a wedding sometime this summer too. Also, with Dad graduated, we're not sure if they will be here much longer! So, here's the pictures we took. I did the smiles saver thing, since we had one free with our membership. Corey had to take his friend to S.L.C. that morning, and so he was a little late- we decided to take Talea's and Taelin's individuals while waiting. They turned out very well. We love the goofy one the best!!

3-29-08 I forgot to post this funny conversation!

On Saturday, the two little ones were sleeping, so I decided to jump on that and go clean the garage. I asked Kelton to listen for Chase and Jake was sleeping with Taelin in our room. So, while I got all of the big stuff moved and organized, I realized that Jake was awake, and that Kelton was coming out to help. I had checked on Kelton and Sat. morning cartoons a couple times, so he wanted to know what I was doing. I guess that meant he knew he could help. He came out in a coat and shoes...this is one of our conversations! And remember, he only knows he's allergic to milk and eggs (environmental things are too hard for him to remember, and we want him to be able to tell people that might offer him things he can't have)!

Kelton: "Mommy, am I a good helper?"

Me: "Yes you are. You are sweeping really great, and that is helping mommy clean out the garage! Thank you!"

Kelton: "I know. I sweep really good. Welcome." (continues to sweep junk and dirt into a pile)

Mommy: "Oh, Kelton, there is alot of dust over here, please back up, becaue you are allergic to it."

Kelton: looks at mommy really strangely and says, "Don't worry mommy, I won't eat it! Dirt is yucky!"

:) I laughed and laughed. I told Jake later that night and we both giggled about how big he is getting! Just in the past 1 1/2 weeks, he's grown up so much and his vocab is growing like crazy. He's a big help with the little ones! We love you Kelton!!!

3-30-08 Sunday Fort

Hopefully our last Sick Sunday for a while! The boys are almost over their gooupie noses and eyes, and their coughs are still there but hopefully by next week, those will be gone too! Since we were home from church today, we had to figure out something that would keep the boys "sabbathly" busy and not fighting. Church videos lasted the morning, but then after Chase's quick nap, Daddy built them a fort (which as we speak Kelton is adding to)! Boys are super fun!

3-23-08 Post Egg Hunt Party

Kimber dancing with Kelton to Butterfly Kisses

Rylin taking a treatment and Chase giving her kisses. He loves her so much!

Someone put "Footloose" on, a family favorite. Chase, loves music...so he started jumping around, and all the kids were line dancing. Great Sunday activity, but hey- they had a good time and we were all together.
Rylin a little confused at me putting the camera in her face. Cute girl!!!

Vanessa and Taelin hanging out (when we weren't getting pelted with broken egg halves from the flying fan), we weren't in the right spot. With the angle of the fan, we were always getting hit!

Ryun, Beau and Bryce throwing eggs from the balcony down to the fan, then eggs would go flying! Then the kids would run around and pick them up. They did this for a good 45 minutes- as Jake and Lindsay tried to get good pics of it. It was fun.

The kids dancing again to footloose, someone restarted the cd (chase- he loves those buttons!)

Corey and his friend Terrant (flew in from Wisconsin for his spring break) just "chillin'" and being stupid as soon as someone goes to take a picture!!!

3-23-08 Easter Egg Hunting!

Easter Morning, the Easter Bunny had fake eggs with goodies in them hidden around the house (some looked like balls). Chase loved the ball ones, and they LOVED their fun baskets with silly string, church shirts, eggs, popcorn, bubbles, spiderman for kelton and a soft soccer ball for chase. Taelin got some really cute clothes and baby lotion. The first pictures are of the easter morning. We got dressed and went up to grandmas by 11:00, fed the boys lunch and then went to church at 1:00. The boys had snotty noses, so we didn't stay for their classes. Later, we had a ham Easter dinner and because we still had quite a bit of snow in Rexburg, we went to Lindsay and Ryun's house just down the street for an Easter Egg Hunt (our first ever indoors here in Idaho). Only select people played- but it was super fun to watch the kids run around and look for them, Kelton and Talea were the funniest. We always play girls against boys, and this year Kelton and Talea would run around to where they had hidden their eggs and show the other where to find them! It was cute to watch and see how excited they were to help each other!

3-21/3-22 EASTER FUN!!

We have had so far a very fun Easter Weekend! Tomorrow we are going to Rexburg for church and Easter dinner and a hunt. Sorry the pictures aren't in order, again- I'm still trying to get a hang of this whole blogging thing. The first pic is of the easter eggs the boys colored in the later pictures. We colored eggs last night after dinner, and Chase was in heaven! The boys still have colored hands, and Vanessa finally got the hang of reading directions and not putting in too much water (it's our first time doing this with just our family). The boys LOVED doing the eggs- but Chase screamed the whole time they were drying. The picture of Jake and Taelin is literally what they did while we were coloring eggs (and yes, he is watching Sesame Street very intuitively). I just tried to monitor and really let them have fun...even tho we ended up with green and blue fingers!
We talked and discussed with Kelton what happens on Easter and with the Easter Bunny, etc. Then this morning we went to the local park for the local radio stations big Egg Hunt. They ran like crazy and I think got maybe 8 eggs total. Chase got 2 and Kelton got a bunch, although he was throughly scared the whole time because of the craziness. It was freezing, so Taelin and I were in the car right in front of the action. We were there 30 minutes early, so we brought some chairs and blankets from the car. It was definitely a new experience!
HAPPY EASTER!

Week of 3-17-08 ~ Everyday is Something New!

Here is finally a good smile on the camera! She had just woken up after a huge nap...so I grabbed the camera quickly! Beautiful little girl!

I took the kids to get their pictures on Wednesday, and this was her outfit. By the time we finished with the boys and the cousin group, she was completely done! But, this is her super cute outfit bought by her great grandpa otto. The shirt under it is white with red poka-dots and lace on the edges! Little girl clothes are super fun!

She changes so much, here are so more smiles for Grma Choffin. Taelin was just talking and smiling at her forever, so I had a chance to stand off to the side so she didn't see the camera! She's so funny about seeing it and getting all serious!

3-18-08 CUT IT OFF!

Jake has been asking me to cut my hair, but when I'm pregnant my hair grows out really nice and thick- so I always grow it out...then by the time the kids are 2-3 months, my hair is back to being thin and limp and although I was loving it... I did it for my husband. So, here it is. I even went for the haircut that him and my mom thought would be cute on me, but what I was REALLy scared to do.
I am still trying to get the hang of styling it...but I'm getting better. I was in the chair for 2 hours since the girl was a newby...she did a great job though- and Lindsay and Talea were there to help out with Taelin...Lindsay got hers cut way cute too. Well, here's to loosing close to 11 inches of hair or more!

Happy Birthday Kelton

3-16-08 Silly Chase

Chase now LOVES to wear underwear, so we practice on the potty (he's only 21 months) every once in a while, and sometimes we wear underwear over our diaper. Kelton got this wheelbarrow for his birthday and Chase is just in love with wheelin' it around. He also started this lip scrunching thing too...he cracks us all up! We love you!
