singing "oh boy, i've got joy", notice chase wanting to be a part of it! :)
(Desiree, Mason, Talea, Kelton and Blaise)

Great job buddy! We love you!

Miss Talea Graduate!

Each child brought a family picture, made a poster and brought their "about me" book and a cloth for their table. Kelton went to pick his out at a fabric store and this is what him and daddy decided was the best, yes- that's transformers!

Stupid Weather!!!!

Can you see the color of this text? Gray....exactly what we are seeing here!! Yucky weather again...and although weeds can grow in any weather- grass doesn't do so hot when there isn't sun! So, the weeds have overtaken the sparse grass. Well, not overtaken, but you can't really see it in most areas...augh! We have decided to do what we should have done earlier, hydroseed. We didn't do it earlier b/c the weather got really nice and we thought it would stay that way, and the guys couldn't come out and spray until after we were gone for Florida. So, here's to doing things the long way, and the weather working against you!

We are definitely learning patience! But honestly....urgh! I guess there are plenty of other things to do be doing...the walk way, the flower beds, and the rock that we have to put down. But, grass is that one thing that we have worked so hard for! We'll keep everyone posted!

Tuesday's Blast from the Past

JANUARY 8, 2008 @ 4:30 am
Okay, so maybe it's not the far past...but I was changing Taelin's diaper today and when I put on her 9-12 months onesie and a 9 month sleeper...I realized that my sweet little brand new baby is now a kicking, talking, squealing active baby girl! I can't believe that she will be 5 months in just a few short days! Where does this time go! Why can't they be smaller longer? And why can't those teenage years go by faster....that would be so much more fun! Anyways, here's to my little girl who has grown so quickly. We love you Taelin, SOOO much! Thank you for coming to our home!

Florida Fun

Visiting Oma and Opa Jansen

Alright....so here's the past week of what has happened. I know I already posted Disney world....so maybe I'll post some others that are cute from that day, but here is out itinerary of the 10 day trip! It was perfect with Jake's every other Friday off, and Memorial Day...he only had to use 4 days of vacation! Which means maybe another trip! It's a super long flight, but the kids did GREAT! The weather was warm, but the breeze saved the day!

May 23rd: Friday
Flew out @ 8:00 from Idaho Falls, Grpa Choffin drove us to the airport and we arrived (via Minnesota) in Jacksonville, Florida at 5:30 pm EST.

May 24th: Saturday
Tried to keep the kids on our time zone...and most of the time it worked. we hung out, went to the mall just down the street and had family pictures taken. Nathan came up the night before and Jake fell in love with the board game: Star Wars Duel

May 25th: Sunday
Chruch from 11-2 (which is 9 our time...wew!) But Kelton actually went to his class (after opening exercises) and Chase was GREAT in Relief Society and didn't make a peep! Taelin was a Daddy's girl! Since Chase is almost 2, Oma and Opa gave gifts everyday except for Tuesday and Wednesday for Chase, and also did not leave Kelton empty handed. It was fun to see how different they are when opening gifts, Chase is so cautious.

May 26th: Monday
We drove down to Orlando, Florida and met Opa and Nathan (who live down there) at Downtown Disney Market and shopped around for a few hours. Then we checked into the condo and went swimming after dinner.

May 27th: Tuesday
Disney World: Magic Kingdom! The weather was warm but the breeze was nice and Jacob was smart to go and get fast passes (where you can scan your ticket then come back and go through a really fast line during that time)...every other ride, so we didn't have to wait very long. Bummer, Kelton was 39 1/2 inches instead of the 40 needed to ride the roller coasters! :( Maybe next year buddy!

May 28th: Wednesday
Opa drove a different car, so we drove back to Jacksonville via Gainseville...to see Marie, Aaron and Emilia. It was SO great to see them and just hang out! We visited a nearby mall and let the kids play while we had girl time (including the baby girls). It was so much fun. Then Marie and Emmie came with us to Jacksonville since she was flying out to see her family in KS. from Jacksonville.

May 29th: Thursday
Beach Day! Taelin had her first dip in the Atlantic Ocean and cried! We usually travel there during the winter, so this was our first fun and water loving day at the beach there! The boys both LOVED it! Running back and forth! Brave little guys!!

May 30th: Friday
Downtown Jacksonville. We visited a children's museum! And then rode the public transportation as a "ride"...the kids loved it. We got to see the city from the rail-way and it was quick, air conditioned and fun!

May 31st: Saturday
Arcade called Ollie Koala's Backyard. Each game was only $.25! We played for over 5 hours! The food was actually real food and yummy. Jacob really had fun too. He's so funny when it comes to video games! He really got into them!

June 1st: Sunday
Flew home, and flew through Atlanta and Salt Lake City. The kids were great again- Chase was just really really tired and was hooked to me all week, not sure why. So when I had to nurse Taelin, it was hard. But Jacob did great distracting him!

Blast from the Past- day late!

The Jansen Boys. Jacob and Nathan. Back in July of 2003.
Jacob is 4 years older than his brother Nathan, who currently is working on a degree dealing with video gaming and technology. I'm still not too sure exactly what he does, even though it has been explained a time or two. I know at least a while ago, he was planning on going into marketing them, so if they are labeled, "fantasy"...he would test them out and make sure they would meet those requirements to be able to advertise that genre.
He is living in Orlando, Fl. and goes to school around the clock. He has already graduated with a Bachelor's in Business while in Louisianna. Honestly, I think they are as different as brothers could be, but we do love you Nathan and we hope you know we really enjoy it when we get to visit with you!
ALRIGHT...SO NATHAN IS GOING INTO VIDEO GAME DESIGN. We had a great visit while we were there with him, and after talking with him, his classes are really cool. He'll be graduated in December with his degree! Congrats Nathan!

5-20-08 Getting my gardener on!

Hey all you green thumbs out there! So, I was tired of carefully planting starters in these organized Home Depot planter thingys, just to have my plants (after they grew out of those tiny egg sized dirt clobs) die when i went to put them in the ground. So, cringe if you may, but when it was time to plant my seedlings, I just cut open the bag of seeds, made a trough with my finger and poured all of the seeds in the packet into the dirt and then covered them (i did put them as deep as they should have been). But, now I have REALLY big seedlings, which is good- well, at least I think it's good! I'm just happy that hopefully I will actually get a producing garden this year! We still can't plant b/c its cold around here...but maybe after we get back from Florida the weather will have made up its mind about being summer and nice! So, I'm pretty excited!
p.s. corn and green beans are not present, since we found out jake and kelton have both of those as 3's (the second most sensitive number) on their allergy tests....so we're shooting for maybe even brocolli in the garden this year!
cucumbers on the left, that are starting to get their pokey edge leafs and finally my anticipated peppers on the right that I thought would never grow!!

Pumpkins on the right in the round pot, and the onions and carrots in the other, soon to appear. Is it strange that the pumpkins get into direct light and kinda get wilty? they search and get drawn to the sun from the window sill, but in the direct full day sun- don't seem to like it? Any suggestions? I heard that pumpkins LOVE the sun! My carrots (which I love to eat straight out of the ground) and onions (ahhh...sauteed) are doing great, I just hope I didn't accidentally get them too close, that would suck to get a yummy carrot that tasted like a raw onion! :)

My little precious tomatoes! not sure if these little guys will even survive- but hey, it's worth a shot right? I want to make salsa this year! yummy!

Just another week!

Uncle Kyle came for a visit this past weekend, on his way to Omaha for the summer! Taelin sure liked him, after the initial bottom lip and worries...she was fine! He is dating a fun and cute girl living in Logan, Utah and will be working for a Pest Control Company this summer in Nebraska. We are so excite for you Kyle! We love you!!!!!!

In between working out in the yard not this past weekend, but the one before- Chase came up to me for some "sweet 'ems". He's such a sweetie, giving hugs and kisses, and gets so sad at the smallest stern word or tiny spank. I don't belive in spanking, but the "get off your sister, she can't breathe" and a quick movement away from her, he turns his head and gets a sincere sad look on his face. He's so tender. I love you Buddy! You are so sweet and kind, thank you for your kisses and hugs everyday!

Look at that smile! He's been quite miscevious lately! He took a couple late naps last week and after Kelton had gone to bed, I found their door open and him in bed with Kelton! They have been playing pretty well lately together. Kelton has started wanting to do more "homework"...so we got him a small ABC's workbook to keep him busy, while Chase is starting to talk more, and can throw a ball across the house, he can even launch a spiral with a football. I can't even do that! Anyways, days are not boring here...don't think they ever will be, and I wouldn't have it any other way!!!

5-18-08 Tummy Time with Taelin

The other day, during Webelos den meeting (at my house) we got a package delivery. We opened it to find this fun toy from Oma Jansen. Thank you! Taelin doesn't really like the fact of laying on her back, but she doesn't mind the new fun view from her tummy. She's getting so big!
She lasted for about 3 minutes, and then got mad, but found her arm to lay down on and rest that head of hers! We love you sweetie!

CRAPPY WEATHER!

I'm aloud to say crappy right? I am coaching Kelton's peewee soccer team (which I did tonight with Chase trailing behind me, Taelin in my arms and 10 kids at my feet for 25 minutes, my mom was stuck in traffic)...anyways, and I said the word "bootie" and some kid told me that that was "a bad word!"...goodness people! bootie is a bad word? i know that you shouldn't say words that are really bad, but what are you supposed to call your butt!?! I was trying not to say butt! Anyways, I hope crappy doesn't offend anyone. :)

Our grass was doing well, but now the stupid weather is cold and yucky. How can it really drop 30 degrees in one day?!?! Welcome to Idaho! So, we hope by the time we are home from Florida, that there will at least be germination and some kind of progress!

Okay, so that was my venting. Here's to "great" weather! I'm ready to move...anyone have any ideas?!?!?!
